The scooter bomb used by Ukraine to kill Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov in Moscow reminded me of the incredibly sophisticated bicycle bomb that the Red Army Faction (supposedly) used to kill Deutsche Bank Chairman Alfred Herrhausen in 1989.

There is some doubt as to whether the RAF or the Stasi were responsible, and no-one was ever convicted.

It has even been claimed that Putin himself was the KGB handler of the RAF members involved in the Herrhausen assassination.
