This is a case where the nip-05 helps as verification tool: simplex (nprofile…cway)'s nip-05 uses the official SimpleX domain, so it's the correct one. This is a better indicator than any followers count.
The other one is an account from a Mastodon bridge, maybe it also legit, I cannot say.
