If you live in an area with snow, and you're not the one shoveling it, I recommend ice cleats as a gift to the person who does the shoveling.
No amount of shoveling is worth crackin' your head or your ass because you slipped on some ice. If you elect to ignore this sage advice, then I recommend gifting them a bike helmet instead.
