I've seen a lot, a *lot*, of toots lately about furthering engagement, building followers, reputation and gaining traction on here. Most speaking about how it's different to [name of any proprietary service].

Today I realised: I just don't care. I don't care if I have three followers or three million. I don't care if my toots get boosted or are only read by me.

What do I care about on here?
That the people I interact with interest me.

The great thing is: nobody gets to tell me that's wrong.
