I started out using [Bear Notes](
https://bear.app) and when I learned of [Obsidian](
https://obsidian.md), I promptly switched to it. Obsidian is a rabbit hole on its own but you can have syncing issues if you’re switching between platforms.
I’m currently investigating [AnyType](
https://anytype.io) as I’ve heard really good things about it. I would self-host as a rule provided the convenience does not suffer much. There are levels to this self-sovereignty thing.
