I came across this lovely tree whilst walking through the Prater Park, in Vienna last week. Many of the trees in the park are horse chestnuts, but I'm pretty sure this one is a black poplar. You don't see so many of them these days, but they can get very large. They have really dark, deeply fissured bark, and heart-shaped leaves.
