👋 Mastodon federation note: every so often we receive an influx of reports about Twitter bridges. Usually they're reported as "unofficial accounts", especially if the account holder has an account on the Fediverse.

Twitter bridges should be treated like RSS feeds. They are ways that people pull Twitter posts into the Fediverse so people can view the posts without logging into Twitter. This is mostly common for large accounts and/or accounts that haven't migrated into the Fediverse. 1/2
