Sort by RES. Whatever is eating all your swap is probably also eating most of your resident memory. VIRT isn't always a useful number because clever programs can "allocate" a few TB of address space without actually using it. This tab in firefox currently has 27.3G of virtual memory, for example, but is actually using about 145M.
