Here's an informative video on just how much money inhibits social media from forming healthy communities and managing bad actors. Almost every company who has tried was slowed down (maybe even killed) by either finances or degradation of their service, where they had to choose to deal with either but not both. Really, Fedi is the only real social platform that's well-managed. Almost none of its structure relies on money in order to sustain it, where it's the users who build up and sustain the network, rather than a few SoCal shitlibs you have to trust wouldn't just fuck you over.
