mittimithai (nprofile…2367) to me the simpler definition is "presence or absence of Y chromosome" which covers a lot more edge cases than "belonging to the sex that produces large/small germ cells" although, both are a heck of a lot better than "whatever i feel like at the moment" or "a woman is a woman" etc

turner syndrome women are missing parts of S chromosomes but that doesn't make it a Y. kleinfelter syndrome have extra X but also Y and still have male sex characteristics. so i would classify those as still male.

the genetics are more fundamental than the development of gonads, which sometimes goes wrong.

there are always going to be edge cases like mosaicism though, and those are the ones that people are going to take to the courts.

regardless we shouldn't rearrange society to accommodate the small fraction of 1% of people with birth defects.

there should be a medical process for determining biological sex of edge cases (which should include a genetic test) and avoid letting this massive gender transition industry get its greedy hooks into people. we will see how it goes....
