Of course it is the proximity to human beings and the power of humans over other humans that make the work so complex, the stacks of each finding so polarizing, and that relentlessly steer the conversation away from what if anything data might expose and towards the concerns of survival and domination that seem to occupy so much of many people's minds.
And probably rightly so.
Someone has to fight about all of this.
But I really wanted to know how it really worked...and we won't get to it.
