A moment of thinking about anecdotal evidence vs. evidence.
Today I was reminded that Jim Fixx, who started the modern "running for health" movement, died of a heart attack while running. What stood out for me was realizing that he died when he was a year younger than I am now. So what did my brain immediately tell me? Why, of course that my sloppy dad-bod did a better job of keeping me alive than his crazy-fit one did, so who's the winner?
And of course, this is a stupid way to think.
