I am evacuated in LA from one of the fires. Maybe this is just the way I personally deal with it, but I just say this is the risk I accepted when I chose to live in California. This was the risk I considered every time I looked at a house and certainly every time I chose to live in one. Some of the streets that are on the border of a fire were ones I considered too risky for me, just based on experience.
Global warming is a component and contributes but let's not turn this thing on its head.
