I’m not really sure how / if I should reply to everybody so I’ll just throw the #sewing hashtag back on.
I have three situations where our clothes change size. First, I have a kid! He’s in 10s these days, except for whatever 8s I missed the last time I swept his room for too small clothes. And I can’t actually remember when I made what things! Sometimes I stack up piles of his joggers to try to figure out which ones are smaller - it kinda sucks.
My husband’s the jeans-wearer these days, and men’s sizing is just as ridiculous as women’s. He has jeans - which he has worn in the past and will wear again - in *four sizes* and none of them make sense. I’ll probably cut a second pattern and make him a few pairs in one size down, too - and then he’s in the same boat, trying to remember which me-made ones are smaller than others.
And I change sizes, too. I don’t really care what size I am; I just want clothes that fit. My pants are all the same couple of patterns, but they’re apostrophe patterns.com - I put my current measurements into the formula and it generates a custom pattern. I definitely have joggers that fit better than others. It would just be nice to be able to mark sizes!
I’ve found some custom shops on Etsy that will help you design a logo and sell you, like, 25 each S M L XL heat transfer labels. But honestly, if I label sizes, I’m going to need a couple of jeans sizes, a 10 for the kid this year, and at least a couple of number sizes for me! I guess it’s a weirder problem than I thought.
