I trap them off my deer feeder when they get too thick, so I just drop corn in them. Try oiling some instead of painting - probably last longer but they will be messy. the coons don't care. you can drop them in a can of oil and let them soak. The only thing I hate about those is they make a bunch of racket when they get caught, not like a live trap. Kickin and screamin all night long.",
