I'd say Lightning nodes or any other noncustodial server still doesn't fit this definition. The money never really went _through_ them, they have only exchanged text messages and signatures. The actual money, if anywhere, can only be said to be on the Bitcoin blockchain itself, so maybe the real money transmitters are all the people running Lightning nodes and the miners, collectively.
