No, it is not fine. The refining process is full of stuff that are horrible for humans, plus also, especially in the US, most of the seed stock that is grown is smothered in glyphosphate and other "-cides" and some of that gets through. All of those are carcinogens and destroy people's gut biome.
So it is a big deal.
