A fruity pair of dyeballs, also known, charmingly, as “dead man’s foot.” They’re a bizarre fungus (I mean, all funguses are bizarre) that erupt from the ground like clods of quasi-sentient dirt. If you bonk one it turns to dust and vanishes on the wind like something otherworldly that was only ever sort-of-here. Inedible. I believe they are commonly used to a) dye wool, and b) navigate starships throughout the universe.
