There's a people (the Sanikt) that came into existence with an fixated, built-in, murderous, and often inheritable animosity to another people (the Tskan) that.... don't appear to *exist.*
Some Sanikt spend a lot of time preparing for the Tskan to come into existence. Some try to explain their fixations with various philosophies, or to cure it. Some conclude that they, themselves, are a kind of cosmic joke.
And a few believe the Tskan do exist, in hiding, among others.
