I was raised by people pleasers. One thing I've learned is that #PeoplePleasing means your energy is apportioned to the people you're most afraid of being angry with you instead of the people you most value. My goal for after burnout is to give my energy to the people I value, and direct my demand avoidance instincts at the people trying to intimidate me into compliance instead of the people I'd rather support but often don't because they're more forgiving.
