I'm looking for recommendations on light-weight non-sql database options that work with python.

It's been a while since I've used mongoDB, and it looks like it's all cloud based now....or a big local install?

Or a good tutorial on how to install mongoDB on my laptop? It's for a research project, not trying to deploy an app anywhere.
