For reporting #weather, I really like using the Maidenhead grid. It’s a shorthand based on lat/lon that #HamRadio / #AmateurRadio operators share an approximate location.
I like it for weather (especially combined with elevation) because it is precise enough to be useful but still gives the reporter reasonable privacy on their location.
I use an app on my phone to determine my grid location. There are also online maps one can use.
My current location is CN89ob, ele 50 m.
