I have a theory that explains a lot of the gender stuff.
I cover it in the first half hour or so of the youtube video linked in my NOSTR profile.

There are a variety of causes including physical abuse, mental/emotional abuse, and mental illness, but I think there is a significant number of cases in which the person lacks the necessary conceptual framework to understand some of their experiences.

This lack of conceptual framework results from the division sewn by dogmatists of all sorts.
