I believe it's more like approaching 90% or more when you try to imagine the whole chain of taxation, historically and direct:
After all the taxes, you want to buy something, there comes the next tax. But included in the price of that item is not only "your" consumer tax, but again the income tax of the person who made it and the income taxes of his suppliers and all the people before and around that.
So the price of the item almost only consists of taxes - and a tiny little bit of work/time and material.
And then there is inflation...
