This is such a mean-spirited article (linked in the quoted post). It’s gloating over a book part-written by a LLM winning a major prize in Japan (the author only revealed she’d used ChatGPT after she won). The author made “active use” for the whole book, and says about 5% of the book quoted verbatim phrases generated by the LLM.
“Egg on the faces of everyone who has blandly said AI can not match human quality.”
Of course it can match human quality, in short snatches, with a lot of human oversight. It’s *directly plagiarising* human quality.
And to sit back and sneer at creatives scared of losing their jobs or what little income they make from writing…oh, you’ve known since the 1990s this day would come? Well done you, dear, here’s your pat on the head.
