The algorithm isn't telling me what I'm doing is worthwhile; my dopamine is.
It is not necessarily true that "the algorithm" is controlling my dopamine. Yes, sometimes I get addicted to things, including Twitter, but there is also value there as well. I have conversations on Twitter where I learn things and connect with people, and that's what keeps me coming back.
Here that doesn't seem to happen. It just feels like shouting into the wind.
