A Paedophile who bizarrely maligned @jk_rowling as a “terf” who “stinks of piddle” in online video founded organisation which received nearly a hundred grand from Surrey County Council. The County Council gave at least £90,470 to Pride In Surrey from 2020-2025. The majority of this money was given before Stephen Ireland stepped down from the org but they have continued to fund it since. Stephen Ireland is listed as the former chairman of Pride In Surrey on the Companies House website. Newspaper reports also call him the director while he states in his Twitter bio that he was the founder. In 2020 he said “We’re so excited about this year’s plans for Surrey Pride. It’s wonderful to partner with the county council again this year, and in the spirit of inclusion there are even more events planned to appeal to all ages, young and old, bringing all communities together in celebration”
He and a volunteer at Pride in Surrey, David Sutton, have jointly been charged with 15 offences
Including:
• six counts of conspiracy to sexually assault a child
• one count of conspiracy to kidnap a child
• four counts of arranging the commission of a child sex offence
• one count of conspiracy to administer a substance with intent
• one count of publishing an obscene article
• one count of voyeurism
• one count of perverting the course of justice
In addition to these charges Stephen Ireland has been charged with a further 22 offences including:
•The rape of a child under 13; •Two counts of causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity (penetrative); •Sexual assault of a child under 13; •Sexual communication with a child; •Causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity (non-penetrative); •Six counts of making indecent photographs of children; •Two counts of possession of an extreme pornographic image; •Two counts of possession of prohibited images of children; •Five counts of distributing indecent photographs of a child; •One count of publishing an obscene article.
David Sutton has been charged separately with additional crimes against children too
Another volunteer at Pride In Surrey was flagged at the same time as Sutton and Ireland but has yet to be charged
