I completely understand that costs have gone up significantly faster than salaries. Not disputing that. People have to come to terms with the fact that standards of living have decreased and you cannot expect the same value for money previous generations enjoyed.

Its like you say, it's all relative. You have to come to terms with reality. Like it or not, what may have been affordable for previous generations is not for current generations.

But that is not to say affordable housing is not available. People need to understand that life is not fair. Expectations need to be adjusted accordingly and proof of work needs to be made towards those goals. There are still opportunities to succeed and move up, but crying about it asking for handouts is not the way.
