This may be an unpopular opinion, but I really enjoyed the #DnD movie (it's on Netflix right now, if you're interested).
Yes, I heard all the complaints, and I will admit that they played seriously loose with the rules: Speak With Dead has a duration, Wild Shape has limits, Time Stop isn't actually that powerful in 5E (they portray it more like it was in earlier editions), and Attunement doesn't work the way they seem to think it does. :P
Still, it was a good story, and I loved that they set it slap bang in the middle of Faerun, with places like Baldur's Gate, Waterdeep, Neverwinter, the Underdark... It's all about the Harpers and the Red Wizards of Thay, and there's even a cameo of Elminster.
Back in 3E, I bought the full Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting, and I read it cover to cover multiple times. I had the big (A2, I think. Maybe A3, can't quite remember) map of Faerun stuck on my bedroom wall. So I felt a bit of nostalgia there.
