I get what your saying, I sort of disagree. I mean there were social standards and such that at one point would have never tolerated this. If they were just out there advocating for things it wouldn't be an issue.
I think the the real point is that its fueled by corruption and cowardice from the top down. Thats how all this gets its funding and such, universities etc. Its the long march through the institutions.
They use those values as a vector. In a functional society it works, but they undermine it by a lot of ways that make people more pliable to this nonsense.
