Before the invention of the Internet, it was believed that ignorance (and generalized stupidity) was mostly the result of information manipulated by the mass media and the lack of free information.

Today, ignorance (and generalized stupidity) is attributed to the enormous amount of information (and misinformation) available.

Whichever way you look at it, ignorance (and generalized stupidity) is a choice, and it seems to be that of the majority.
