I am a trekky too, but you forget the time, when Voyager and TNG where filmed ... at the time it was the trouble that women are leading officers or even the captain ... in the different specias where different human behaviors shown and discussed ... the ferengy (only money counts) ... the BORG (deeply centralized socialism combined with technical fears) ... the vulcans (feelings are bad, only logic, math and tec is good) ... humans do not use any form of MONEY any more ........ and many more

What I try to say: Star Trek allways was at the front of controvercy, today this front is shifted .... What I find very sad in Star Trek in the last 10 years is, that it propagates war more often than peace ... from the beginning it was one of the big points to propagade peacefull discussions and finding peacefull solutions to problems. Only if it was not possible to find peacefull solutions there where elements of war. ... Yes, there where plenty wars, but they tried to propagade peace .... Star Trek of the last 10 years, is a war-propaganda of domination, covered with actuall controvercy elements of gender, sexuallity and mental health
