A while ago I bought a USB/Centronics cable to see if I could use my old Panasonic KX-P1124 printer (now about 35 years old) with my ThinkPad P15 Gen 2i which is currently running Debian 12. I never got around to trying it... until I saw your post today.
It took some figuring out, but I got it to work. It's not dead yet! The single-sheet "push" feed doesn't work consistently, though, so I'll have to use the tractor feed. (Wish me luck finding paper stock when my old supply runs out!)
