As the year draws to a close, here's my 2 sats on the future of #Bitcoin and humanity.
I agree with saifedean (npub1gdu…6nak) about freedom of choice, and with Luke Dashjr (npub1lh2…a9nk) about miners choosing how they build their blocks.
However, we're not living in a libertarian utopia, and individuality always loses out against coercive collectivism. There are many different attacks against Bitcoin happening simultaneously right now, but they all one thing in common: dividing the community, and potentially the chain, eventually.
At the end of the day, an individual can win a boxing match, but not a war. And to protect the individual rights of our children, and their children, we need an army to match the endless onslaught that Bitcoin will face forever.
My fear is that attacks like Ordinals, OP_CTV, ETF's etc will lead to fractures in the community, resulting in smaller and smaller forks, rendering Bitcoin defenseless against the banking oligarchs.
There's a fine line between collectivism and a strong community of principled individuals, and I can only hope that the economic principles of Bitcoin hardens the principles of this community against the seductive lure of castle building instead of fortress building.
Bitcoin represents opportunity, probably the LAST opportunity humanity has to build an escape hatch out of a dying empire as it attempts to enslave each person and their offspring in debt forever.
Either Bitcoin is freedom tech that affords individuals the right to transact and save or it becomes a fractured ghost of itself, absorbed into the debt matrix.
2024 will likely prove to be a pivotal year testing this resolve, and I wish you all strength, fortitude and happiness as the banking cartels drive nails into their own coffins.
