ππ ON #CHRISTMAS ππ
I lost my father some years ago on #BoxingDay & ever since, I have this strange tradition where I tend to spend Christmas day alone to gather my thoughts & reflect on the entirety of the year.
It's now ~9pm (in #Asia) & my reflections are complete.
By nature, I am a minimalist & typically don't have any interest in material things, but over the course of this year, I've been given exactly 2 gifts from people who I really connect with on a human level. Here are the gifts that I was given:
One is a handmade painted clay #BTC logo & the other is a (totally sick) Velcro patch of the same thing. I cannot think of more fitting gifts that I could have received & the givers clearly understood the assignment. π
I started today with an incredibly simple & modest breakfast to set the tone for the rest of the day (lowkey #foodstr):
The intent behind this was to remember to appreciate simplicity & to be mindful of those who don't have much.
I live an extremely fortunate life. There is nothing that I need which I don't have access to. There is nothing that I want, which I feel I cannot attain. I realize that this puts me in a super-minority of people on this Earth & that fact is never lost on me.
I am exceedingly grateful for all of my experiences, am in a better position than I have ever been before in life & understand that the future will only bring more abundance/happiness. This has not always been the case (but that's a post for another day) so that thought is overwhelming sometimes. π₯²
I was lucky enough to meet up with my mother about a month ago (who lives 11 time zones away) & I know that I am loved unconditionally, to the point where I sometimes feel guilty for being so fortunate.
In this upcoming year, I am finally going to have the opportunity to pursue the path that I believe I was put on this planet for (another post for another day) & I am excited/optimistic for all of the good that I will be able to bring to other people's lives.
Life has not always been like this, but I am living proof that things can always get better, even if you've waded through the depths of hell. However, I am also cognizant of the fact that none of this would have happened if I had never discovered #Bitcoin at my lowest of lows.
I am forever indebted to countless people (that I have never even met) because they expended 50+ years of time, energy, innovation, invention & discovery starting from before I was even born.
So thank you to the cypherpunks, the rebels, the people who believed in me, the people who bet against me & last, but not leastβ¦
THANK YOU, #SATOSHI. π
#MerryChristmas & #HappyHolidays, everyone. It's time to go call my family; I'll see you all tomorrow. π€
