None of my relatives would ever say anything like that, and I know they are good people who want the best for everyone. But that's not how dehumanization work. Dehumanization is about ignoring (or erasing) the needs of others, it's about a lack of empathy for them: for example trying to "destroy Hamas", no matter what the cost to civilians; collective punishment; finding all sorts of reasons (human shields, etc) to justify mass killings, etc
