the more i think about it the more this sign is really misleading — they're using "cards for every occasion" to mean "we made a list of every occastion we could think of and made specific cards for them" but if they just had two cards that said "congratulations" and "i'm sorry that happened" then that would actually cover every occasion. it was precisely their insistence on making cards *for every occasion* that prevented them from having cards for the occasion we had in mind
