"we lolicons hate pedos" type idiots are just misappropriating japanese culture and failing to recognize that the style of cartoon artwork they've dubbed "lolicon" (because it's drawn by japanese people who identify as lolicons) is meant to represent a real attraction. what these idiots fail to grasp is that japanese artists don't *need* to do mental gymnastics and pretend they're not depicting what they're depicting, however stylized it is. the difference is more fundamental and imo important: the distinction between fantasy and reality, between an imaginary play space and an actual real life society with real people and consequences. lolicon only implies a gender preference because there's a masculine equivalent: shotacon. both mean pedo
