The afterlife may exist or it may not. I harken to certain Tibetan sages, and Aldous Huxley, but I can't prove there is one. Some believe it exists but not everyone makes there. If it exists, I would insist that it is not magical, it is part of the natural world. If it is of nature, then it will include a spiritual ecology--and even predators. but if it doesn't exist I'm with Mark Twain who said he was dead for billions of years before he was born and it caused him "not a moment's discomfort."
