This is because the Greek OT translated the Sacred Name (YHWH) as "kurios," which is "lord" in English. So when Saint Paul and other NT writers employ "kurios" for Jesus in the NT, they're drawing directly from the Greek tradition and applying the Sacred Name TO JESUS.
