Renaming the tiniest of existing federal operations with a DOGE label was just a convenient way to give a marketing slogan some legal existence. No coincidence that it was a tiny group inside the White House - which makes its activity opaque - whose principal asset was its prior work across multiple agencies.
The current DOGE is just the box. Whether Wheaties or poop is inside has yet to be determined.
