theo h. mann (npub17dy…yf4p) i've seen games gather cult followings, but i've really never seen recent indie games manage that, shit like undertroon and deltatroon and fnaf doesn't really count because the former was exactly what i described, a whole bunch of tumblr troon types rushing to current reddit game of the month to catch some likes and reposts over being hip and trendy or some shit and the latter is a brand now also its playerbase is literally 10 year olds
it really isn't like old games like unreal, worms, half life, doom, duke nukem, etc.
