You've probably read them already, but in case you haven't... There's a bit in one book where future humans mine antimatter from the Sun's corona using essentially a Dyson swarm, but they are smart enough to keep the mining spacecraft out of the plane of the ecliptic to avoid dimming our daylight here on Earth. That's like two or three paragraphs from "Marooned in Realtime", the sequel to "The Peace War", which are about a crazy physics breakthrough that upends civilization. Feels a bit like a Larry Niven "Known Space" story in how the bolonium invention gets used in many unexpected ways.

The other Vinge rec is for "A Fire Upon The Deep" and "A Deepness In The Sky". There's a 3rd novel in the "Zones of Thought" series too but I haven't read it yet, "Children of the Sky" (I really should read it sometime). A short story "The Blabber" is a prequel to all those stories and worth reading, either before or after. AFUTD and ADITS are both amazing space opera stories and give Vinge plenty of opportunities to take an idea and run with it. The antagonist in AFUTD is the most frightening concept for a sci-fi baddy I have yet encountered.
