The success of fascist-adjacent "right-wing populist" parties in parliaments across the world is regularly described as a *threat to* #democracy. I think we should be more candid about the fact that it is a *result of* democracy. Even in the highest-educated nations on Earth, a lot of voters don't understand what democracy entails beyond the right to vote for demagogic criminals.
