I don't really understand the streaming music services like the ones which are like, you're supposed to pay for access to music from their library? not to mention that things like Spotify don't even have all of the artists in my music collection, much of which is from CDs (and a section of that from Ian's CDs, at that) but I appreciate the chance to back everything up to a server that I trust in, courtesy of some friends of mine, and as a bonus everyone in the co-op gets the benefit of the music and I get the other media as well.
this doesn't stop me from also archiving a copy to an external SSD, of course, and thumb drives, and other media. but I don't currently have the ability to get together a significant enough NAS set-up, and then there's still the issue of getting it set up so that I can access it from anywhere which is a bit challenging given I'm no longer super up to date with tech everything.
so I make do with the solutions available to me.
