agree the extreme erosion of personal responsibility is a problem and is scary. I just disagree its compassion that is causing it, its more of a hive mind or group think phenomena around how to be a 'good citizen'.
true compassion promotes personal responsibility, like bitcoin.
telling fat people 'fat is beautiful' is not compassion. its an easy superficial way to make you feel good about being so accepting of fat people, yet ultimately does not serve the fat person's well being. true compassion would be encouraging the fat person to get healthier and take personal responsibility, or at the very least not encouraging the person to continue destroying their most important earthly possession.
I don't have name for what is happening to society but having an appropriate name would help call it out. tbh it kinda feels like an effort to exploit our better natures to make us lazy, unhappy, and dependent on the system.
