One main thing I was thinking during this episode is the level of toxicity one may receive in bitcoin is based on is it in line or out of line with the status quo (Austrian econ, some right leaning/libertarian worldviews, etc)
So for me, intentionally talking about left/progressive things, I do face quite a lot of toxicity from bitcoiners broadly, particularly on X and some leading names.
Lyn leading with macro and economic things may be more “in line” or not like super confrontational to Bitcoiners broadly. And btw, I love Lyn’s work and think she’s brilliant, this ain’t a knock against that.
Many in the bitcoin space, when confronted with something different from their own worldview, can be quite toxic/hostile. So I think Molly is picking up on that more than Lyn has felt. THAT SAID, I receive more support than I do toxicity, and over time the support has grown as people get to know me as a person. Just food for thought, I can understand both their perspectives in this chat. So I think it’s more about ideological view than gender for what they were discussing in terms of toxicity receive and that can be enough to keep women and many others away from the space.

quoting note1xyt…yxvwI plan to listen to this on my drive home later this afternoon and I’m sure I’ll have some thoughts! Right off that bat though I want to commend LynAlden (npub1a2c…w83a) for accepting the invite to the conversation.
Sharing it in case anyone missed this and wants to take a listen from Molly White (npub1lsq…mx0m)!
