"content": "Most people don't look that far ahead. They look at the price of gas and their mortgage rate, their credit card interest rate. They see endless stories about local crime (which seems very bad, even though the actual overall crime rate is down) and immigration problems (which could have been helped if the GOP hadn't blocked Biden's attempts to fix it, but the increase happened under his watch nonetheless). They see the situation in Gaza, and many (especially Muslims and younger people) blame Biden even though he can't control Bibi very much, and Trump would be far worse. Philosophical issues of democracy are as far from their minds as Alpha Centauri, leaving aside the fact that a good 30%-40% when asked say their really DO want Trump to be a perpetual leader with King-like powers.",
