I learned today that the common myna (Acridotheres tristis) is considered an invasive species in Europe and now I'm sort of hoping to see one. I know, the conscientious nature lover shouldn't be cheering on invasive species. But we had mynas nesting all over the compound in Kabul when I lived there and I grew fond of them. They are very bright and curious. And I can't fault them for making the best of a human-dominated world.
