It's such a short-sighted business strategy, too. Setting aside hidden costs (including the environment), once an AI vendor is providing most of a company's workforce, what's to stop the vendor from jacking up prices? The cost to restaff the entire company with humans would be prohibitive; sourcing, hiring, training, etc.
Also, I wonder what assurances the vendors are making in terms of reliability. It's not a proven technology.
